Sandwich Cold room Panels

Camlock Sandwich Panels for Cold Room Walls and Ceilings

A camlock sandwich panel has a built-in male-female cam-lock mechanism. Turning the cam with a hex key hooks the male lock into the female lock and pulls the two panels firmly together, so wall and ceiling panels interlock without gaps and the use of adhesives is kept to a minimum. Panels have a PUR or PIR insulation core and can be dismantled, moved and re-installed easily.

Advantages

  • Fast locking: Cam locks pull panels tight together, with fast and even clamping along the joint.
  • Airtight envelope: Gap-free joints plus mastic give a sealed, energy-efficient cold room.
  • Vacuum resistant: Walls and ceilings act as one unit against pressure and vacuum loads.
  • Tall rooms: Panels over 9 m without extra steel profiles in the wall.
  • Corrosion-proof lock: No seizing of the lock due to corrosion over the life of the room.
  • Demountable: Rooms can be dismantled, moved and re-installed easily.

Installation Steps

  1. Prepare a level, insulated floor and set out the room according to the panel layout.
  2. Stand the first wall panel, then offer the next panel up so the male and female locks face each other.
  3. Apply mastic to the gaps in the joint.
  4. Turn each cam with the hex key to pull the panels together, and close the lock holes with caps.
  5. Lay the ceiling panels on the wall panels and lock them the same way; hang long spans from the structure.
  6. Finish corners and joints with profiles and food-safe silicone.
